According to eyewitnesses, as quoted by The New Indian Express, a heated argument between the driver and conductor moments before the accident may have distracted the driver, leading to the vehicle veering off course. Chaos ensued as the bus barreled into the stall, where many people had gathered for breakfast.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene. Among the injured, one person was declared dead on arrival, while two others are in critical condition. At least three more are being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Peenya Traffic Police have cordoned off the area and are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings to reconstruct the sequence of events. An FIR is yet to be registered, but authorities said a detailed investigation is underway.
