South Western Railway's Bengaluru Division conducts DRUCC Meeting
Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway convened the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting on 17th July 2025. The meeting was chaired by Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Divisional Railway Manager of the Bengaluru Division.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashutosh Kumar Singh said that the Division will introduce digital navigation through the Namma Nakshe App, offering easy-to-use station maps showing platforms, entrances, lifts, and waiting halls. Initially, this is being implemented for KSR Bengaluru Station via https://nammanakshe.com, with more stations to be added soon. Backlit maps have been installed at both the main and second entrances of KSR Bengaluru Station.
Ashutosh Kumar Singh noted that the division earns 73% of its revenue from passenger traffic. During the financial year 2024-25, the Bengaluru Division carried 103.72 million passengers, reflecting a 2.89% increase from 100.81 million in the previous year.
The Division saw strong revenue growth in FY 2024-25 with goods revenue at ₹326.3 crore with a growth of 14.56% over previous financial year. The Division has achieved parcel revenue ₹134.19 crore with an increase of 10.79% over last financial year.
The Division is operating a leased Parcel Cargo Express Train (PCET) between Yeshvantpur and Patelnagar. So far, the PCET has completed 375 trips fetching a revenue of ₹66.27 crore, he said.
Various railway related issues were discussed during the meeting, including the provision of escalators at stations, increasing train frequency, improvement of passenger amenities, and other related matters.
The DRUCC meeting was attended by several committee members including Ashvin Semlani, Mohd Begh, Chinnaguttappa, Karnam Ramesh, Balakrishna, Misrimal, Natarajan, Satisha, Girish, Venu Yadav, and Y. B. Shiva Prasad.
Ashutosh Mathur (Additional Divisional Railway Manager), Krishna Chaithanya, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager; Ms. Priya, Senior Divisional Operations Manager; Dr. Shreyans B. Chinchawade, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, along with other officers were also present.
