Gurugram school also gets email threat

HSV Global School, a private school located in Gurugram’s Sector 46, received a bomb threat through an email on Thursday night. In the letter, it was written that explosives would be hidden in classrooms. An FIR was registered at the Sector 50 police station.

Upon receiving information, several teams, including the police, bomb squad and dog squad, conducted a search operation on the school premises on Friday but nothing suspicious was found. It is being said that nearly 25 schools in Delhi-NCR have been issued such threats.

The threat letter was sent to the school around 12:30 am. The sender claimed that he had planted many explosive devices in classrooms and that all these devices were wrapped in black polythene. He also mentioned that due to being overweight and under mental stress, he was struggling, and no one was able to cure him, which is why he wanted everyone to keep suffering.

The school administration informed the police about it on Friday morning. By the time the management checked the email on Friday morning, the students had already arrived at the school. They informed the police at around 11 am and the police reached the spot and called the bomb squad and the dog squad. They started investigating by evacuating students and teachers from classrooms but nothing suspicious was found. The search operation lasted for two hours.

“The sender of the email is being identified and he will be arrested soon. The way he has mentioned about his illness in the letter, it seems that someone suffering from excessive weight gain and mental illness has sent it and his only intention is to harass others. The police teams searched the entire school but nothing was found and it was only a hoax. Many schools in Delhi has also received threats of bombs being planted. A probe is underway”, said Sandeep Kumar, the spokesperson of Gurugram police.
