RSS affiliate set to hold Gyan Sabha in Kerala, Bhagwat to attend event
RSS affiliate Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas will organise a national educational discourse titled ‘Gyan Sabha’ from July 25 to 28 at Kalady in Kerala — the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya. The five-day event will serve as a platform for dialogue and strategy-building on the theme, ‘Education for a Developed India’.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will participate in the sessions. The programme will begin with a two-day Chintan Baithak (reflection session) on July 25 and 26.
Pankaj Mittal, chairperson of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, said, “Indian knowledge traditions must be incorporated into the current education system to build a strong and value-based future. The revival of Bharatiya Shiksha is essential.” On July 27, during the RSS’ internal programme, a dedicated session titled ‘Indianisation in Education’ will be held. Educationists from across Kerala will come together to discuss the inclusion of Indian knowledge systems and values in the current education structure.
The Gyan Sabha will be held on July 28. Educationists and subject experts from across the country will present their insights on ‘Education for a Developed India’. The session will aim to develop a national academic and ideological roadmap for Indian education, emphasising the significance of traditional and technical education rooted in Indian heritage. There will be discussions on the identification of steps key to revive ancient Indian educational institutions and systems. A focused dialogue between Kerala’s educationists and national experts on Indian values in education will also be discussed.
The event will also feature discussions on Indian traditions, values, mathematics, astronomy, character development and holistic personality development. Atul Kothari, secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, said education played a key role in nation building. “When India was Vishwa Guru our education system was excellent. Students from across the world came to Indian universities like Nalanda, Takshashila. Today, we need to resurrect India’s education in order to make it capable and prosperous.”
The National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) will also initiate a campaign under the theme ‘One Nation, One Education’ that will continue till 2028. Swami Atmanand Saraswati, national co-coordinator of NYAS, said, “A roadmap will be created to develop a system where education is rooted in Indianness, values and self-respect.”
