Doctor awarded for community service & diabetes awareness

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva has said the university is committed to community service and cultural enrichment, and the national recognition of two of the university’s members has brought pride to the institution.

Dr Ashish Aneja, Senior Medical Officer and Administrator at the KU Health Centre, was recently conferred with the Best Doctor in Community Service and Diabetes Awareness Award-2025 by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

The award was presented to him by Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, and Earth Sciences, during a ceremony in Delhi.

Sachdeva congratulated Dr Aneja for the achievement, calling him “a true symbol of compassionate healthcare and service”.

Sachdeva commended his “tireless efforts in organising free medical camps, spreading diabetes awareness, and improving access to preventive healthcare for underprivileged communities”.

Dr Aneja is a researcher and author with multiple national and international publications to his credit, including two books in microbiology.

His contributions have been acknowledged globally through his participation in over 150 academic conferences.

Kala Ratna Award

Harikesh Paposa, an employee at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), was honoured with the Kala Ratna Award at the Constitution Club, New Delhi, earlier this month.

Paposa received the award for his contributions to art, culture, and social service.

Sachdeva congratulated Paposa for the achievement.

Deputy Director (Public Relations) Jimmy Sharma said these recognitions reflected Kurukshetra University’s vibrant academic and social environment, where individuals committed to excellence in diverse fields continued to receive national and international acclaim.
