Uttar Pradesh Crime: Woman Employee Absconds With Gold Worth ₹1 Crore From Lucknow Jewellery Shop

Lucknow: A Mumbai based jeweler is reeling after a female employee allegedly vanished with nearly 1.5 kilograms of gold, valued at over ₹1 crore, from his shop in Lucknow’s Chowk Sarafa Market. The businessman has accused the woman and her family of fraud and issuing threats, prompting a police complaint and an FIR registered on the Commissioner's orders.

Shivaji Kundlik Mohite, the Mumbai jeweler, stated that Suman Triyan from Mohan Garden, Delhi, had worked at his brother in law's Lucknow shop for about a year, seemingly earning their trust. On January 15, 2024, Suman, after a brief stop at the Lucknow shop with Mohite, excused herself for an urgent task. However, she allegedly left with a bag containing 1,494 grams of gold.

Upon realizing the gold was missing, Mohite contacted Suman, who initially claimed it was an accidentally carried away and promised to return it. Soon after, her phone went dead. Mohite's subsequent visit to her Delhi home found it locked.

He then contacted her family in Kakori, Lucknow, who, after initial evasions, refused to return the gold and threatened him with false cases and violence if he pursued police action. Mohite now believes this was a premeditated plot to swindle his gold. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
