Expedite devpt work in Cuttack: CM to secretaries

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed departmental secretaries to expedite the implementation of various developmental work in the Cuttack Parliamentary constituency area. The Chief Minister’s instruction came during a meeting with Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab at Lok Sabha Bhawan Friday. Majhi also suggested that officials work together to transform Cuttack district and its sub-regions into a modern and prosperous model area. During the meeting, discussions were held on setting up of a vending zone in OMP area of Cuttack City, establishing a large convention center, upgrading the Ranihat area, and constructing a park at Press Chhak.

Additionally, the integrated development of Satyabhamapur — the birthplace of Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das — was also discussed. Other topics included a drainage master plan for the CMC and CDA areas, the proposal for a barrage in the Mahanadi river, the revival of the Badamba Sugar Mill and the Bhagatpur Cotton Mill, and the construction of sub-divisional level cold storage facilities. Present at the meeting were Development Commissioner. Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Department Hemant Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shashwat Mishra, and Municipal Administration Director Arindam Dakua, among others.
