Six Dead After Mini-Van Crashes Into Truck On Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh

In a devastating road accident on the Yamuna Expressway, six people lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries after a mini-van collided with a truck in the early hours of Saturday. The collision took place near milestone 140 at approximately 3 a.m.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar, the Agra-bound mini-van is believed to have rammed into a heavy vehicle, possibly due to the driver dozing off while at the wheel. “The accident took place at milestone 140 at around 3 am. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of six passengers. The two surviving victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. “Six people died on the spot, while two have sustained serious injuries and were admitted to a hospital,” Kumar added. He confirmed that the families of the deceased have been informed and further legal procedures are underway.

Separate Bus Accident Leaves 17 Injured 

Just an hour after the mini-van accident, another mishap occurred on the same expressway. A private bus traveling from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh overturned near milestone 131 at approximately 4 am.

The SSP revealed that a total of 17 passengers were injured in this second incident. “Eight injured people were admitted to the District Hospital in Mathura, while nine others were taken to the SN Medical College in Agra. The condition of all of them is stable,” he said.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus driver may have also fallen asleep behind the wheel, leading to the vehicle toppling over.
