FATF must act firmly against Pakistan
Sir,
The article “FATF Must Hold Pak Accountable” (July 11) rightly highlights the urgent need for global action against Pakistan’s persistent terror financing. Despite repeated grey-listing, Pakistan continues to provide safe havens and financial support to terrorist networks, posing a grave threat not only to India but to global peace.
India’s detailed investigations in cases like Pulwama and Gorakhnath Temple attacks clearly demonstrate how terrorists exploit digital platforms, VPNs, and e-commerce for funding. FATF’s acknowledgment of these threats is welcome, but insufficient.
Symbolic warnings must now give way to concrete punitive action—asset freezes, sanctions, and suspension of aid. Allowing a state to sponsor terrorism with impunity erodes the very foundation of international law and counter-terrorism frameworks.
The world must unite not just in condemnation, but in decisive action. Terror finance must be choked at its source, and Pakistan must be held accountable—without delay.
