IMD Alert: These states will have heavy rains for a week; Know the weather conditions in your state

IMD Alert: Monsoon is active in different parts of the country and the clouds are raining heavily. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the coming days. Depression is moving in the west-north direction near Prayagraj near Uttar Pradesh. It will move towards northwest Madhya Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan in the next 24 hours, which will gradually weaken and turn into a deep low pressure area. Due to its effect, there will be heavy rain in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand on 20 and 21 July. Heavy rain is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir between July 19 and 24. Heavy to very heavy rain warning has been issued in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar between July 19 and 24.

In South India, Kerala and Karnataka are likely to receive extremely heavy rains on Saturday-Sunday. Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Lakshadweep may receive heavy rains between July 19 and 24. Strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph are likely to blow in South Peninsular India for the next five days. In Northeast India, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura will receive heavy rains from July 19 to 22. There is a possibility of thunderstorms during this period. There is a warning of heavy rains in the ghat areas of Goa and Maharashtra from July 19 to 24. Strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph are likely in Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan, which will gradually subside.

Rain likely to continue in Delhi

Many areas of Delhi received rain on Friday. At the same time, light rain is likely to continue in the coming hours. The Meteorological Department gave this information. According to this, light rain and cloudy weather is expected in the national capital on Saturday as well. According to IMD data, Palam received 2.8 mm, Lodhi Road 9.5 mm, Ridge 5.6 mm, Aya Nagar 1.5 mm, Pragati Maidan 9.5 mm and Pusa 7.5 mm rainfall. Palam received the highest rainfall of 17.2 mm in 24 hours. Ridge station received 10.4 mm, Ayanagar 8 mm, Najafgarh 13.5 mm and Pusa 12.5 mm rainfall. Janakpuri and Narela received 3 mm and 0.5 mm rainfall respectively. Maximum temperatures were recorded below average in most parts of Delhi.

Meteorological Department’s Orange Alert in Himachal

Officials said that a total of 181 roads in disaster-affected Mandi, 26 in Sirmaur and 23 in Kullu district are closed. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in different areas of Himachal Pradesh on July 21 and 23. Orange alert has also been issued. By Sunday, a yellow alert was issued warning of heavy rains in some places of the state. Since the arrival of monsoon on June 20, till July 17, about 112 people have lost their lives. Of these, 67 people have died in rain-related incidents and 45 in road accidents. About 199 people have been injured while 35 are missing.
