Diphu Station at NFR gets Rajdhani Express Stoppage from July 17

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is pleased to announce the introduction of a new stoppage of the Train no. 12424/12423 (Dibrugarh – New Delhi - Dibrugarh) Rajdhani Express at Diphu railway station with effect from 17th July, 2025. This long-awaited development comes following the request for enhanced railway connectivity for the people of Diphu and adjoining hill areas of Assam. To mark the occasion, an official ceremony was held at Diphu station on 17th July in presence of Chief Executive Member of KAAC, Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Amarsing Tisso and senior railway officials, ahead of the arrival/departure of the Dn/Up Rajdhani Express. Both trains stopped for two minutes at Diphu railway station.

This strategic addition is expected to immensely benefit the residents of Diphu, Karbi Anglong and adjoining regions by offering them direct access to one of India’s most important and premium train services. With a direct rail link to the national capital, passengers from the region will now be able to travel faster and more comfortably to key destinations en route to New Delhi, thereby promoting mobility, regional connectivity and socio-economic development in this part of NE.

The Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express runs daily and is well known for its speed and convenience, covering above 2,400 kilometres approximately, in about 37 hours plus. The inclusion of Diphu as a stoppage reinforces NFR’s commitment towards bringing premier train services closer to underserved regions and improving rail accessibility across the Northeast hilly areas.
