VIDEO: Speeding Car Driven By Gujarat Cop's Son Rams Into Pedestrians, Scooter While Racing With Friend In Bhavnagar; 2 Killed

Bhavnagar: Two people died after a speeding car hit them in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, the police said. The car was reportedly driven by a cop's son. Two others were also injured in the incident, according to media reports. The accused has been identified as a 20-year-old, Harshraj Singh Gohil.

The incident, which took place earlier this week, was captured on CCTV installed in the area. According to reports, Harshraj was racing with his friend on a street in the Kaliyabeed area around 4 pm when he rammed into people. Gohil was reportedly driving a white-colloured Creta and was racing with his friend, who was driving a red Brezza car.

The CCTV footage shows a speeding white Creta car hitting the two pedestrians. The vehicle then rammed into a scooter. Hashraj is the son of Assistant Sub Inspector Aniruddha Singh Vajubha Gohil from the Local Crime Branch.

The accused was driving at a speed of 120 to 150 kilometres per hour when he lost control of the vehicle. After hitting the pedestrians, the car also skidded and smashed a scooter. The tyres of the scooter burst and the two travelling on it sustained injuries. They were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Bhargav Bhatt and 65-year-old Champaben Vachani. As per the police, Bhatt had got married last year and was on his way to work when the incident took place.

Harshraj was taken into custody and interrogated. However, he was not formally arrested.
