Apple sues Prosser and Ramaccioti after breaking nexus of iOS 26 data leak
NEW DELHI, July 19: Apple Inc., an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, filed a lawsuit against the YouTuber Jon Prosser and tech analyst Michael Ramaccioti for leaking confidential details of the upcoming iOS 26 operating system.
Cupertino-based tech giant Apple accuses Prosser and Ramaccioti (Product analyst and video editor, NTFTW) of working on a coordinated scheme to break the development of the iPhone and its secrets. Apple alleged that the information was acquired through the “Brazen and egregious” means.
The suit was filed by Apple in the District Court of California. Apple stated that the duo accessed the sensitive information through an old Apple employee, Ethan Lipnik (former software engineer, Apple). Reportedly, Lipnik was fired multiple times from Apple to breach the information about the device’s development as per the contract and policy.
As per the court filings submitted by Apple, Prosser came to know that Ramaccioti needed money, and then they came into contact with Apple’s ex-employee, Ethan Lipnik, for accessing the information on device development.
Apple fired Lipnik based on an alleged audio message received stating that Ramaccioti used to track Lipnik’s location and used Lipnik’s passcode to track information about the device development. (UNI)
