Shah Rukh Khan sustains injury on ‘King’ film set; shoot paused

Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly suffered an injury on the film set for his upcoming movie King. While reports indicate that the injury is not serious, it does require the actor to take a month's rest, prompting the production to go on hold.

According to Hindustan Times, the actor was filming a high-octane action sequence at the Mumbai location when the incident occurred. A source informed the publication that it is a “muscular injury” and that Khan has received medical attention. “He was shooting in Mumbai when he was injured. The exact details of the injury are being held under wraps at the moment. It is more of a muscular injury and nothing serious. That being said, it is not being taken lightly. Shah Rukh has travelled to the US for medical attention. He has been suggested to take a one-month rest,” said the source.

Due to the lead star’s injury, the film’s shoot has been temporarily put on hold. The Siddharth Anand directorial was scheduled for shoot for July and August, but has now been postponed until after September. “Till then, Shah Rukh has been advised to rest and focus on the recovery. In fact, he has also been asked to get back to the set with caution,” the source added.

King reportedly features Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Anil Kapoor, Suhana Khan and Saurabh Shukla. While not confirmed, reports indicate that the film is slated to release on October 2, 2026, but with the aforementioned roadblock, a slight change in release plans might be in the works.
