Taipei: A bizarre incident has come to light in Taiwan, where a female football coach was involved in a blood donation scam. The girl students of the university have accused the coach of forcing them to donate blood in exchange for a degree. The accused female coach has gone viral on social media platforms and has been termed a vampire, with users criticising her fiercely.

What Exactly Happened?

According to a report by the  South China Morning Post, the incident came to light when a student named Jian publicly accused the coach. Jian, a student at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), said that her football coach, Zhou Tai-ying, forced her and other students to donate blood.

What Allegations Did The Student Make?

Jian alleged that she and other students were forced to donate blood multiple times, affecting their health. According to Jian there were times when her vein could not be found to insert the needle. Notably, accused coach Zhou Tai-ying is a prominent figure in the Taiwan football program.

University Has Suspended The Coach

Following allegations of illegal blood collection by untrained personnel for on-campus research, the university suspended Zhou from her position on July 13th.

National Taiwan Normal University required its students to earn academic credits to graduate. As many as 32 students were tricked to these blood donation camps by coach Zhou Tai-ying. Those who did not listen to her had to face the risk of not graduating.
