Why are these post offices being closed?

According to postal officials, a major task of system upgrade and integration of new APT (application) is to be done in 36 post offices of Delhi region. Due to this, all postal services including banking will be halted for just one day, so that the new computer software can be fully installed and verified. The purpose of this decision is to provide faster, safer and smarter digital services to the customers in the coming days.

Which post offices will remain closed?

On Monday, a total of 36 post offices including Aliganj, Amar Colony, Andrews Ganj, CGO Complex, Dargah Sharif, Defence Colony, District Court Saket, East of Kailash (both phases), Gautam Nagar, Golf Links, Gulmohar Park, Hari Nagar Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Jangpura, Kasturba Nagar, Krishna Market, Lodhi Road, Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, MMTC-STC Colony, Nehru Nagar, ND South Extension-II, Panchsheel Enclave, Pragati Vihar, Pratap Market, Pushp Vihar, Sadiq Nagar, Safdarjung Airport, Saket, Sant Nagar, Sarvodaya Enclave, South Malviya Nagar, Srinivaspuri, Jeevan Nagar BO will remain closed.

Post offices will remain closed for one day

The Postal Department appeals that if you have any urgent transaction or banking transaction, then settle it before or after 21st July. During this time, no savings account, term deposit, postal investment, or general postal service will be available. Rest all the post offices of Delhi will remain open as usual.

Postal department officials say that with the update of the new application, Delhiites will now get a much easier and faster experience of postal services. The digital ecosystem of the post office will be strengthened and transactions will also be more secure with future-ready technology. This closure is only till July 21. From the next day i.e. July 22, all post offices will open with their normal arrangements.
