Identity stickers made mandatory for auto-rickshaws in Panchkula

In a bid to strengthen and streamline traffic management, the police have launched a special enforcement drive mandating the installation of unique identity stickers on all auto-rickshaws operating in the city.

Auto-rickshaw drivers were informed that, under the directive of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP, Traffic) office, the affixation of the special stickers was now compulsory.

Officials warned that failure to comply will invite strict action, including challans and impounding of vehicles. The stickers are being issued and applied at the ACP Traffic office in Mansa Devi.

Under the supervision of Traffic station house officer (SHO) Inspector Sunil Kumar, awareness drives were carried out near the Civil Hospital, market areas and traffic signals in Sector 6.

The Inspector also cautioned drivers against wrong parking, abrupt braking and other traffic violations that endanger public safety.

Simultaneously, in Kalka, Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar, Traffic In-charge of Surajpur, educated drivers outside the Kalka bus stand on the importance of adhering to the new directives and broader traffic norms.
