Mohali siblings on target at shooting meet
City-based siblings Aditya Bakshi (Class 8) and Navyansha Bakshi (Class 6) won three gold and a bronze medals at the District Shooting Championship. The competition , organised by the District Rifle Shooting Association at the Shooting Range, Phase 6, was played over two days.
Navyansha secured the gold medal in the 10 Meter Air Pistol Women (Under-14) category with a score of 355. She then pocketed a bronze in the 10 Meter Air Pistol Women Sub Youth (Under-20).
Her brother, meanwhile, doubled up on golds at the event. In the Men’s 10 Meter Air Pistol (Under-14) event, Aditya clinched the gold medal with a score of 372.
Aditya also secured the gold in the Men’s 10 Meter Air Pistol Sub Youth (Under-19) category, again scoring 372.
The siblings’ coach Pardeep Pal expressed confidence in their potential, calling them rare talents in the sport.
Their father, Bharat Bakhshi, meanwhile, shared his pride in their achievements, adding that both children are being trained
at Sprout Shooting Academy under the guidance of Director Mukul Sharma, while pursuing their studies at St Stephen’s School, Sector 45.
