To give patient hearing to Opposition my responsibility: Governor-designate
Haryana Governor-designate Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh, along with his wife Mitra Ghosh, arrived at Haryana Raj Bhawan today. He was welcomed by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and his Cabinet colleagues.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghosh said that he has an important responsibility — to give a patient hearing to the Opposition, to understand its views and perspectives. “I will ensure that their opinions are respectfully conveyed to the Chief Minister,” he said.
He said that he had come from West Bengal to support and encourage the Chief Minister’s progressive initiatives. He added that his discussions with the Chief Minister would focus on the welfare of the poor and underprivileged sections of society in Haryana.
Speaker of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Harvinder Kalyan, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and other senior officials of the state government were present on the occasion.
The Union Government had recently appointed Prof Ghosh as the Governor of Haryana following the completion of the tenure of Bandaru Dattatraya.
