Sonepat-based startup raises Rs 1 cr in funding

Exobot Dynamics, a deep tech startup building next-generation prosthetic and assistive devices, has cumulatively raised over Rs 1 crore in funding from government and private sources.

Incubated at Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) IIT Delhi at Sonepat, the company is focused on empowering persons with disabilities (PwDs) through advanced, accessible and affordable bionic technologies.

Exobot is known for its flagship product — a bionic hand powered by EMG sensors — and is now gearing up to launch its second innovation, Exobot GripX, a breakthrough lightweight, versatile, customisable and low-cost myoelectric prosthetic hand designed for people with upper-limb amputations.

Exobot GripX promises to offer a better alternative to existing market options — combining high functionality with affordability.

Having completed its development phase, the product is now set for launch in the coming months and aims to transform the lives of persons with disabilities (PwDs) through accessible, intuitive technology.

Recently, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi visited AIC IIT DELHI to engage with deep tech startups and interacted with the Exobot team and commended their impactful work, encouraging the development of cutting-edge technologies that address real-world challenges faced by PwDs and contribute to India’s MedTech leadership.

“The Chief Secretary insistence on developing advanced and indigenous solutions strongly aligns with our vision. It reinforced the responsibility we carry to push boundaries and make world-class prosthetic technology accessible to all,” said Munish Kumar, Founder and Technical Lead, Exobot Dynamics.

During his visit, the Chief Secretary also engaged with other pioneering startups, including ‘Carbonation India Private Limited’ and ‘Orish J Bioworks’, focused on deep tech innovations. He appreciated their efforts in addressing critical national and global challenges through indigenous technologies and emphasised continued state support for such impactful ventures.

Dr Nikhil Agrawal, MD, FITT IIT Delhi, remarked, “Exobot’s journey is a testament to how deep tech innovation can create meaningful societal impact. We are proud to support such transformative ventures through our incubation ecosystem and look forward to their continued breakthroughs in assistive technology.”

Congratulating the team, Alok Pandey, CEO of AIC IIT Delhi, said, “We are proud of Munish and the entire Exobot team for their exceptional work. Their achievement reflects the potential of deep tech innovation in India.”
