Job trainees to be engaged for two years, government notifies scheme
The state government has notified a scheme for the engagement of job trainees on a fixed amount in Group A, B and C cadres. It had decided to end contractual recruitment sometime ago and instead engage trainees.
As per the notification, the candidates will first be engaged as ‘job trainees’ for two years. During this period, they will get a fixed amount instead of regular salary and will be considered for regular appointment only after they pass the qualifying examination or efficiency test.
The government says that the objective of the new recruitment policy is to promote transparency and competition in state jobs. The scheme is expected to increase accountability, motivation and professional attitude among the youth.
The job trainees will not be considered regular employees of the government in any way. They will not get the benefits of the rules like CCS, pension, leave, and cannot make any claim on this basis. Before appointment, a candidate will have to furnish an affidavit that he/she will not claim any benefit associated with government service.
The candidates will be given role-based training and practical experience, as per the departmental responsibilities. The trainees will be entitled to TA/DA, besides medical facility under HIMCARE and Ayushman Bharat.
