Shimla district badminton competition from July 23

The Shimla district-level women and men’s badminton competition will be organised from July 23-27 at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Shimla. Competition coordinator Balwant Jhauta said in the first three days of the competition, there will be competitions for boys and girls in the age group of 11 to 17 years.

Thereafter, matches for boys and girls will be organised in under-19 and senior categories. This decision was taken at the meeting of Shimla District Badminton Association. It was also decided that Shimla District Master Badminton Championship will be organised in the last week of October.

Jhauta said the entry for the championship can be given to badminton coaches. He said all preparations for the championship have been completed. “About 200 boys and girls from across the district are expected to participate in this competition,” he said, adding that the winning players of the championship will represent Shimla district at the state level.
