Hoshiarpur team defeat Nawanshahr by 70 runs in inter-district cricket tournament

In the inter-district senior boys’ competition organised by the Punjab Cricket Association, the Hoshiarpur team defeated Nawanshahr by 70 runs and earned four points.

Giving information in this regard, HDCA secretary Dr Raman Ghai said that the Hoshiarpur team won the toss and elected to bat first in this 50 overs match, scoring 252 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Batting for Hoshiarpur, Rachit Soni scored his second consecutive half-century knock of 57 runs, Kulveer Singh contributed 51 runs while Vaibhav Sahdev contributed 26 runs. Shubham and Manveer Singh Heer scored 25 runs each. Bowling for Nawanshahr, Akashdeep took four wickets and Manav Vashisht took two wickets.

The Nawanshahr team, batting second with a target of 253 runs to win in 50 overs, was all out for 182 runs in 44.2 overs. Mohit contributed 56 runs and Manav Vashisht 42 runs for Nawanshahr.

Captain Karamveer, Rajat Sharma and Haral Vashisht bowled brilliantly for Hoshiarpur, taking two wickets each while Gursharan Hira, Manjinder Singh, Vishal Banga and Kulveer Singh took one wicket apiece.

Dr Ghai congratulated the Hoshiarpur team on the victory and said that the team will continue its good performance in future as well. HDCA president Dr Daljit Khelan and the association congratulated the team.

District coach Daljit Singh, district trainer and national cricketer Kuldeep Dhami, junior coach Daljit Dhiman, Pankaj Pinka and women’s coach Davinder Kalyan also congratulated the team. Dr Raman Ghai said Hoshiarpur will play its next match against Mohali.
