Mohit Suri Recalls 'Disastrous' First Meet With Aneet Padda For Saiyaara After She Showed Up In Yellow Dress: 'What The Hell Are You Wearing?'
Big Girls Don't fame fame Aneet Padda is making waves with her performance in the recently released film Saiyaara, where she plays the role of Vaani Batra. The film marks her big-screen debut as a lead actress and also introduces Ananya Panday's cousin brother, Ahaan Panday, who makes his acting debut opposite her. Now, director Mohit Suri opened up about how his first meeting with with Aneet, calling it a 'disastrous' after seeing her in a yellow outfit.
'First Meeting Was Disastrous': Mohit Suri On Aneet Padda
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mohit said, "She came into the office wearing a yellow costume. Ahaan was there with me, and I remember thinking, 'What the hell are you wearing?' Apparently, someone had told her that’s how the character dressed—which wasn’t true at all. She must have gotten really scared, and it was quite a mean thing of me to do, now that I am actually thinking."
Mohit Suri Reveals Aneet Padda Was Nervous
Further, Mohit shared that he feels the current generation tends to get chatty when they're nervous, and Aneet was no exception. She definitely got chatty during their first meeting, but Ahaan stepped in before she could say too much and tried to absorb all that nervous energy onto himself.a
Suri Knew Aneet Padda Had Potential
"She had previously tested for colleagues of mine—like Anurag (Kashyap), Kunal Deshmukh—so she was definitely in the testing market. And Shanoo Sharma (YRF casting director) really vouched for her, so I thought she was good," added Suri.

The film features Ahaan Panday as Krish Kapoor, an aspiring singer, and Aneet Padda as Vaani Batra, a former singer who has turned lyricist and writes songs for Krish. Circumstances bring them together to collaborate on a song, and soon, love blossoms between them.
