Puri Teen Suffering 75% Burns, Is Critical And On Oxygen Support: AIIMS Delhi
A minor girl from Puri, Odisha, who sustained severe burn injuries after being set ablaze by miscreants, has been airlifted to AIIMS New Delhi and is currently in critical condition, receiving oxygen support in the Burn ICU. The 15-year-old victim, initially admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar with 70-75% burns, was transferred for advanced treatment.
"A patient with 75% burns, was airlifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar and received at AIIMS New Delhi at 4:20 PM. She is currently admitted to the Burn ICU in the Burns and Plastic Surgery block. Her condition is critical, and she is on oxygen support. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her condition," AIIMS Delhi confirmed in a statement.
Before her departure from Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Ashutosh Biswas provided an update on her condition, noting, "The patient's condition is stable, and her blood pressure, which was low yesterday, has improved. It was safe to transfer her."
To facilitate her urgent transfer, a "green corridor" was established by the police. Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena told reporters that "a green corridor was set up to take the patient from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to Biju Patnaik International Airport, and one platoon of police force was deployed." Bhubaneswar Traffic DCP Tapan Kumar Mohanty added that the ambulance, an advanced life support vehicle with a dedicated medical team, reached the airport from AIIMS Bhubaneswar "within 10 to 12 minutes."
