Madhya Pradesh 21 July 2025 Weather Update: Respite From Rain For Two Days; Heavy Showers To Return From July 23
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The state may get a temporary halt from a month-long intense rain spell due to weakening of the monsoon system. For the last 2 days, a few districts witnessed light rain. Meanwhile, several districts like Bhopal remained dry, with sun shining bright.
According to the weather department, some districts are predicted to witness drizzles on July 21 and 22. However, an intense spell of rain is likely to return from July 23 onwards.
Currently, the monsoon turf and western disturbance are far away from the state, but the state will be experiencing heavy rainfall in the last week of July especially in the eastern and southern regions of the state.
20.5 inches of rain in MP so far
According to the weather department's data, the state recorded 20.5 inches of rain so far. Districts including Niwari, Tikamgarh and Sheopur exceeded their seasonal rainfall quota. Meanwhile, Gwalior has already recorded 80 to 95% of it's seasonal rainfall.
On the other hand, less than 10 inches of rain has been recorded in districts including Indore, Ujjain, Shajapur, Burhanpur and Agar-Malwa.
Unstable weather pattern in these districts
On Sunday, Ujjain and Khajuraho experienced light showers. At the same time, there was light rain in Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Singrauli, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Sheopur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Guna, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sagar, Damoh, Jabalpur, Umaria, Sidhi, Shahdol and Rewa districts after evening.
The sun shone brightly during the day in many cities including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain.
Weather will change again from July 23
A senior weatherman stated, "There is no alert of heavy rain anywhere in the next 24 hours. Similar weather is expected on July 21-22. However, on July 23, a spell of heavy rain will start in some districts of the eastern part".
