Shilpa said that after her movie Bewafa Sanam was released, rumors of her death started making rounds. She revealed that when this entire incident happened, she was in Manali, and it was her dad who was desperately reaching out to the hotel’s reception to know about his daughter’s whereabouts.

She said, “I was in Kullu Manali. My dad was trying to call the hotel because we didn’t have mobile phones at that time. I was shooting with Suniel Shetty there. Everyone who was watching the shoot kept thinking, ‘Is this Shilpa or someone else?’ because they had heard the news.”

She revealed that when she came back to her room, she discovered around 20–25 missed calls. Shilpa Shirodkar added, “When I came back to the room, there were around 20–25 missed calls. My parents were worried; there was a headline in a newspaper that Shilpa Shirodkar was shot dead.”

Shilpa Shirodkar’s Death Rumor Was a PR Gimmick

“When he told me, I was like, ‘Okay.’ Yes, thoda zyada ho gaya. There was no PR activity or anything at that time. Kuch pata hi nahi tha na. I was the last one to know that something like this was going to happen. No one used to take permission at that time. The film worked well, so I wasn’t really angry,” the actor shared.

On the work front, Shilpa Shirodkar is set to appear next in the Telugu supernatural thriller Jatadhara. Directed by Venkat Kalyan and produced by Zee Studios, the film stars Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
