Mutilated Bodies Of Young Couple Found On Railway Tracks In Jabalpur; Identities Unknown; Civic Workers May Perform Last Rites

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Mutilated bodies of a young man and woman were found on a railway track in Jabalpur on Monday.

Police suspect that both died by suicide after jumping in front of a speeding train.

The incident took place near Basa village under the Madhotal police station area on Monday morning.

The shocking sight sent panic through the nearby area.

According to information, a railway pointman spotted the body parts scattered on the tracks and immediately informed the police.

Madhotal police station in-charge Nilesh Dohre and his team reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem to the medical college.

The man and woman were estimated to be between 22 to 25 years old. No identification documents were found near them, so their identities remain unknown.

According to the railway worker, the duo was seen walking along the track before the train arrived. When the train approached at high speed, both reportedly jumped onto the tracks together.

The impact was so strong that their bodies were torn apart.

Locals said the two were not from the nearby village. Police have shared their photos with other police stations in Jabalpur and nearby districts in an effort to identify them.

If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please seek help immediately.

Officials believe it could be a case of a love relationship, as both ended their lives together. However, this has not yet been confirmed. Police are working on tracing mobile locations and checking CCTV footage to get more details.

If the identities are not confirmed within 24 hours, the last rites will be conducted by the municipal authorities, following official procedure.
