At which Delhi Metro stations is entry banned?

Generally, all passengers get easy entry and exit facility at every station in Delhi Metro, but there are two stations where alighting of common people is prohibited, one is Shankar Vihar and the other is Sadar Bazar Cantt. These stations come in military areas, so it is necessary to have a special ID card to alight here. Common citizens cannot exit at these stations without permission. Most of the people of Delhi are unaware of this rule, but this system has been implemented for security reasons.

Why can’t you alight at both the stations?

Common people are not allowed to get off at Shankar Vihar and Sadar Bazar Cantt metro stations. Both these stations are located in the military area (Cantt area), so only people holding special ID cards can exit here. Shankar Vihar metro station is on the Magenta Line, while Sadar Bazar Cantt station also falls in the defense zone. According to metro officials, common passengers are prohibited from getting off at these stations due to security reasons. No one is allowed to exit these stations without the required identity card.

How to use: Tap on the metro gate. This card is issued by the bank.
