Three more Chandigarh sectors to have open air gyms

Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has decided to install open air gyms in Sectors 34, 35 and 43. The Municipal Corporation has issued a tender of over Rs 23 lakh for this.

Premlata, councillor of the area, has said that the amount for the project has been sanctioned from the ward development fund of the councillor.

The open gym is being installed at a time when the state of-the-art gyms in community centres are lying defunct. Premlata said that she would raise this issue in the next general house meeting and would demand that a policy be framed to run gyms at the community centres for residents at affordable fee.
