Strengthen interstate roads on priority, Saini directs officials
In a bid to strengthen Haryana’s road infrastructure, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to give top priority to the repair and strengthening of interstate roads.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of well-maintained entry roads. “All roads entering Haryana must be in good condition to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for commuters,” he asserted.
Saini instructed officials from the relevant departments to ensure the timely completion of all repair and development projects and made it clear that any negligence in quality standards would not be tolerated.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of a mobile application being developed to support his government’s vision of making Haryana’s roads pothole-free.
He directed that each department must ensure 100% mapping of its roads and promptly upload the data onto the platform. “The mobile app should be user-friendly so that the general public can easily access it,” he said.
The app will enable citizens to report damaged roads or potholes, allowing the authorities to take swift remedial action and improve road maintenance.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (PWD) Anurag Agarwal, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr Saket Kumar, HSIIDC MD Yash Garg, and Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board CA Mukesh Kumar Ahuja.
