Chinar Premier League 2025 inaugurated

BARAMULLA, July 21: The Chinar Premier League (CPL) 2025 was inaugurated today at Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla, with a vibrant opening ceremony attended by senior military and civil officials. Present on the occasion were GOC 19 Infantry Division, DIG J&K Police (North Kashmir), DIG BSF, DIG CRPF and officers from the district administration Baramulla.
Organized by the Indian Army, CPL 2025 marks the 11th edition of the tournament and features 64 teams from across the Kashmir valley. The league aims to channel youth energy through sports, promoting unity, discipline, and positive community engagement.
The opening match saw BCC Reds face off against Karnah Tigers, a team representing the last village of India. BCC Reds’ captain Zubair Dar called the CPL “Kashmir’s own IPL” and thanked the Army for this “golden opportunity.”
To broaden outreach, matches are being live-streamed via social media with high-definition camera setups. Games will be held at Bipin Rawat Stadium and Showkat Ali Stadium, Khawjabagh.
A large crowd gathered for the event, showcasing immense local support. The CPL 2025 continues to stand as a beacon of peace, pride, and youth empowerment through the spirit of cricket.
