Lenskart Confirms Snapdragon XR Powered Smart Glasses Launching In India Soon

Lenskart is set to elevate its smart eyewear lineup through a strategic partnership with Qualcomm, announced at the Snapdragon for India – XR Day in New Delhi. During the event, Lenskart CEO Peyush Bansal confirmed the company’s second-generation smart glasses will harness Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipsets—potentially AR1 Gen 1, AR2 Gen 1, or W5 Gen 1—enabling advanced AR or AI voice-enabled features.

This follows Lenskart’s debut 'Phonic' smart glasses, launched earlier this year at Rs. 4,000, which offered music playback, voice assistance, and up to seven hours of battery life. The new iteration promises heavier on-device AI, smoother spatial computing, and potentially rich visual overlays—ushered in by Qualcomm’s XR platform deployed across over 100 devices worldwide.

Qualcomm’s Alex Katouzian underlined the goal of pushing smart glasses into the mainstream as the next everyday computing platform—devices that are as integral as smartphones—powered by sub-watt XR chips enabling on-glass intelligenc. Savi Soin, President of Qualcomm India, emphasized the collaboration’s alignment with India’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision, framing the devices as tools for empowerment in education, frontline work, and digital inclusion.

The partnership also integrates localised innovation: Qualcomm highlighted ongoing efforts with Indian players like Jio, Flipkart, and Lenskart to integrate India-based large language models capable of recognising regional languages and dialects—critical for market tailoring.

For Lenskart, the move deepens its position in the emerging wearable tech space. Teaming with Qualcomm not only enhances technical capabilities but also broadens appeal, aligning the company with global XR trends and advancing India’s foothold in spatial computing.

Curently, the Indian market has very few options when it comes to smart glasses. Rayban's partnership with Meta brought wayfarer-shaped smart glasses to the Indian market, which were very well received.
