Breaking News: INDIA Bloc MPs Protest Outside Parliament Over Bihar Voter List Revision, Accuse NDA of Electoral Conspiracy
The Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed fresh turbulence today as INDIA bloc MPs launched a vocal protest outside Parliament following the adjournment of proceedings in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Holding banners and chanting slogans, opposition MPs rallied near Parliament's gates, targeting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s voter list ordered by the Election Commission ahead of the state elections. The INDIA alliance has alleged that the ongoing voter list revision is a deliberate move by the NDA to manipulate electoral outcomes in Bihar by deleting valid voters. Accusations flew that similar tactics were used in Maharashtra, where, according to the opposition, fake voters were added. They now claim Bihar is witnessing the reverse – mass deletion under the guise of revision. The Election Commission, however, has clarified that the SIR is a constitutional mandate and aims to ensure only genuine voters remain on the list. Meanwhile, MPs from the INDIA bloc accuse the EC of acting as a "puppet of the central government," directly blaming the Modi administration for undermining democracy.Simultaneously, Bihar Assembly also saw intense protests on the same issue, forcing multiple adjournments.
