Pawan Kalyan To Contest In Tamil Nadu Elections 2026? Jana Sena Chief Reveals His Plans

With growing interest in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape and increased visibility in the state, speculation has been mounting over whether Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan will step into Tamil Nadu politics ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. The actor-politician addressed the question directly during a media interaction, putting an end to weeks of speculation.

When asked about his political ambitions in Tamil Nadu, Pawan Kalyan told ANI, “As an NDA partner, my primary responsibility would be to make sure wherever NDA candidates are contesting, I will extend my support. That is a part of my commitment to NDA.”

Jana Sena Has Some Limitations: Pawan Kalyan

He clarified that while he may have personal popularity beyond Andhra Pradesh, his party—Jana Sena—is not currently equipped to contest independently in Tamil Nadu.

“As Jana Sena, I think we cannot compete with national parties. It is a very tough job. Maybe I am known nationally, but as a party, it has some limitations. To develop a party and to go to that stage, maybe it would take a few more decades,” he added.
