Mohan Raju Death: Suriya And Silambarasan TR Come Forward To Help The Stuntman's Family Financially After His Demise
A few days ago, a stuntman named Mohan Raju aka SM Raju, passed away on the sets of Pa Ranjith's film Vettuvam while performing a stunt. The demise of the stuntman left everyone shocked in the Tamil film industry. Recently, in an interview with Kumudam, his colleague and friend, Stunt Silva, opened up about how actors from Kollywood have come forward to help the late stuntman's family.
Silva revealed that the first person to call him after the incident was Arya. Thalapathy Vijay also called and asked, "He used to pull off stunts so perfectly. How did this happen?"
Suriya And Silambarasan TR To Financially Support SM Raju's Family
Silva further revealed that Suriya and STR have come forward to help SM Raju's family financially. “STR (Silambarasan TR) sir called me and said he would give a cheque for a big amount to the family, and he gave them a large amount. Suriya sir’s manager called and said he would take care of the children’s education. So everyone is rallying around them.”
SM Raju's Death
SM Raju passed away on July 13, 2025, while performing a car stunt for Vettuvam. Pa Ranjith had shared a condolence note on X which read, "On the morning of 13th July, we lost unexpectedly a talented stunt artist and a long time colleague Mr. Mohan Raj on the sets of our film Vettuvam in Nagapattinam District of Tamizh Nadu. Our heart is broken for his wife, children, family and all who knew and loved Mohan Raj Anna as a colleague and a friend."
The note further read, "This death is devastating. We deeply mourn the loss of Mohan Raj Anna a husband, father, an incredible stunt artist and a graceful human being. He wanted to be remembered for his work as a fabulous stunt artist, and that’s how he will always stay in our memory."
