Kejri, Mann on 2-day visit to Gujarat from today

AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat, starting on Wednesday. They will also hold two rallies against the rule of the BJP-led government for three decades in the state.Kejriwal said, “I and Bhagwant Mann are going to Gujarat on a two-day visit. We will join the rally in favor of the people of Gujarat in Modasa and Dediapada."

Launching an attack on the BJP-led government, Kejriwal claimed that the demand of fair prices by the dairy farmers was responded with lathi charge, in which one farmer lost his life. “When AAP leader Chaitar Vasava raised his voice against this rampant corruption, the government arrested him. After ruling for three decades, the corruption and authoritarianism of the BJP have reached their peak. Gujarat is suffering under this weight of the BJP’s arrogance and misgovernance," the post mentioned.

This will be Kejriwal’s second and Mann’s first visit to the western state after the party’s victory in Visavadar bypoll. Earlier, Kejriwal had toured the state from July 1 to 3 to attend organisational meetings and launch the party’s ‘Gujarat Jodo’ membership drive.

The Visavadar seat in Gujarat’s Junagadh district was won by AAP’s former state president Gopal Italia, who defeated BJP candidate Kirit Patel by 17,554 votes.

The AAP leadership described the result as a sign of Kejriwal’s “powerful comeback” to national politics, following the party’s defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections.
