Two arrested for killing migrant labourer
The police have arrested two persons for the murder of a migrant labourer at Myanpur Changer village on Monday.
The suspects were identified as Sudagar Singh of Kotli village in Morinda and Inderjit Singh of Baroli village in Kharar.
The complainant, Priyanka, wife of deceased Shanky, stated that her husband left home at 8 pm on July 20 to buy household goods, but did not return home throughout the night. The next day, he was found lying at Baba Sher Singh Samadh with serious injuries. When the family members reached there, Shanky told them that he had gone to the Samadh to drink water where two Nihangs overpowered him and beat him up. After telling this, he passed away.
A case under Sections 103 and 126(2) of the BNS was registered at the Majri police station.
Accused Sudagar Singh was earlier booked at Sri Chamkaur Sahib on March 26, 2010, under Sections 324, 326, 148 and 149 of the IPC. Similarly, a case was registered against accused Inderjit Singh under Sections 323, 341, 148, 149 of the IPC at the Sadar Kharar police station on May 14, 2013.
