358 buses deployed to provide transportation to candidates
The Karnal district administration has given final touches to its preparations for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) to be held on July 26 and 27 by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). Duties have been assigned to duty magistrates and police officials to ensure smooth examination.
While chairing a meeting of the officials after the review meeting conducted by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini through video-conferencing on this issue, Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh said that all preparations for the test have been completed by the district administration.
To facilitate candidates from Karnal whose examination centres are located in Panchkula and Yamunanagar, the district has arranged transportation, including a fleet of 358 buses.
DC Singh assured that transport planning has been thoroughly executed and clear instructions have been issued to drivers and conductors to assist candidates in case they board the wrong bus. For candidates coming to Karnal to appear for the CET, the administration has arranged shuttle bus services from designated points to examination centres.
Adequate parking facilities and logistics have also been organised to ensure a smooth experience.
The DC highlighted that examination centres for Jind district candidates have been set up in Karnal and 146 shuttle buses would transport them smoothly under the supervision of designated nodal officers.
To deal with any emergencies such as vehicle breakdowns, reserve buses have been stationed at key locations. Special attention has been given to avoid inconvenience to candidates throughout the journey.
Singh urged all candidates to read and follow the instructions mentioned on their admit cards. He mentioned that candidates could travel free of cost on Haryana Roadways buses by showing their admit card. Women candidates will also be allowed to travel free with one accompanying person. For advance seat booking, candidates must register through the link provided on the Transport Department’s website.
