21-Year-Old Held With 66 Liters Of Illicit Liquor In Bhopal
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a crackdown on illicit liquor smuggling, the Crime Branch arrested a 21-year-old man and seized 66 liters of foreign liquor along with a two-wheeler scooter, with a total estimated value of Rs1.84 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended the youth near a mall in MP Nagar area while he was preparing to transport liquor cartons concealed in black plastic bags hidden among bushes.
The accused, identified as Himanshu Sen alias Chhota Lilli, was caught red-handed loading cartons of liquor onto a black Access scooter. Eight cartons, containing 88 bottles of foreign liquor, were seized from him.
Himanshu, a resident of Panchsheel Nagar under TT Nagar Police Station, has criminal records involving multiple cases related to assault and illegal liquor trade.
Mother son duo held with marijuana
In another development, the crime branch on Tuesday arrested a mother-son duo with 4.31 kilogram of marijuana worth Rs 86,000. The accused Jyoti Kuchbundia (40) and her son Pankaj (20) were arrested from Govindpura area.
Police officials said that the arrested duo hail from Sagar district. They confessed bringing the contraband to sell it to youths in small quantities.
