Schools in Ariyalur district will remain closed on the occasion of Rajendra Chola’s birth anniversary on 23 July. Emperor Rajendra Chola is considered one of the greatest rulers of South India. During his reign, the Chola Empire increased its power in South-East Asia. He conquered many areas like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. 6 areas were conquered.
