Breaking News: IAF Welcomes Apache Helicopters to Strengthen Combat Edge | ABP NEWS
India’s air power received a major boost as the Indian Air Force (IAF) welcomed the first batch of three American-made Apache attack helicopters. Delivered by Boeing, the helicopters landed at an Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad and will be deployed near the Pakistan border at Jodhpur. These advanced helicopters can operate in all weather conditions and are equipped with Hellfire missiles and 30 mm chain guns, capable of carrying 1,200 rounds. Meanwhile, the IAF is preparing to retire its iconic MiG-21 fighter jets in September after 62 years of service. Introduced in 1963, the MiG-21 played key roles in wars with Pakistan and the 2019 Balakot airstrike but suffered numerous crashes in recent years, earning the nickname “Flying Coffin.” In another aviation update, the British Royal Navy’s F-35B fighter jet, grounded at Thiruvananthapuram Airport since June 14 due to a hydraulic failure, finally took off after 38 days of technical repairs. British officials thanked Indian authorities for their support during the repair process.
