Children’s PAN Card: Just like a PAN card is an important document for a common adult, similarly a PAN card is equally important for children. After the Aadhar card, this is the second important document which is very important to get made for children. If you want to invest in the name of children, put money in mutual funds or fixed deposits or open a bank account in their name, a PAN card is required for everything. However, in today’s digital India, the good thing is that it has become very easy to get a PAN card for children. There was a time when it required paperwork and rounds of government offices. However, now everything is done digitally and without going anywhere.
Children’s PAN Card is different
Children’s PAN card looks similar to that of adults, but there are many differences in it. The biggest thing is that this PAN card comes under the “minor” category, because the child is younger than 18 years. Because of this, it does not have the child’s photo and signature, whereas these are necessary in a normal PAN card. The name of the child’s parents or guardian and their PAN number are added to the child’s PAN card. This is because they take financial decisions for the child. This PAN card is not used for paying tax, but for investing, getting mutual funds or fixed deposits and opening a bank account.
It is necessary to update the card
One thing must be kept in mind regarding the PAN card of children. Actually, just as it is necessary to update the Aadhar card of children after a certain age, similarly it is necessary to update the PAN card after the age of 18. Actually, after the age of 18, when the child comes into the adult category, then the signature and photo are added to his PAN CARD.
