Shocking: Trump’s big attack on Obama, accuses former president of sedition in 2016…, Gabbard threatens with prosecution, says ‘will refer…’
New Delhi: President Donald Trump on Tuesday, July 22, accused former President Barack Obama of treason and falsely linking him to Russia without any evidence and leading an effort to undermine his 2016 presidential election campaign.
What did Obama say?
Trump often attacks Obama by name, but for the first time since becoming president again, he has pointed a finger at Obama with allegations of criminal action. A spokesperson for Obama denounced Trump’s claims, saying “these bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.”
Trump, while speaking at the Oval Office, leaped on comments from his intelligence chief, Tulsi Gabbard, on Friday, July 18, in which she threatened to refer Obama administration officials to the Justice Department for prosecution over an intelligence assessment of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Which ‘Treasonous Conspiracy’ did Tulsi Gabbard refer to?
The United States Director of National Intelligence declassified documents and said the information she was releasing showed a “treasonous conspiracy” in 2016 by top Obama administration officials to undermine Trump. The Democrats have called these claims “false and politically motivated”.
“It’s there, he’s guilty. This was treason,” Trump said on Tuesday, though he offered no proof of his claims. “They tried to steal the election, they tried to obfuscate the election. They did things that nobody’s ever imagined, even in other countries.”
A treasonous plot was hatched to weaken Trump
Tulsi Gabbard made confidential documents public and said that the information she is releasing shows that in 2016, top officials of the Obama administration hatched a treasonous plot to weaken Trump.
What else did Trump accuse Obama of?
Trump said on Tuesday that it is clear that he is guilty. It was treason. He tried to complicate the election. He did things that no one had ever imagined, not even in other countries.
Obama has long been a target of Trump. In 2011 he accused then-President Obama of not being born in the United States, prompting Obama to release a copy of his birth certificate.
In recent months, Trump has launched many verbal attacks against his two Democratic predecessors, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
