Two pairs of Vande Bharat trains are running on the Katra-Srinagar route. One pair is named after train number 26404 and 26403, while the other pair is named after train number 26401 and 26402. All these trains stop only at Banihal station on their way to and from Srinagar and Katra.

Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Train Timings

Train number 26402 departs from Katra at 14:00 and reaches Srinagar at 16:58. In the return journey, train number 26404 departs from Srinagar at 8:00 am and reaches Katra at 10:58 am. Train number 26401 departs from Katra at 8:10 am and reaches Srinagar at 11:08 am. Train number 26403 departs from Srinagar at 14:55 and reaches Katra at 17:53.

According to the IRCTC website, the fare of chair car of train number 26401 Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat for 24 July 2025 is Rs 720 including catering charges and Rs 1325 for executive class. The fare of chair car of train number 26403 Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat is Rs. 665 including catering charges and that of executive car is Rs. 1275.

The fare of chair car of train number 26402 Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat is Rs. 885. This includes catering charge of Rs. 308. The fare of executive class is Rs. 1520 including catering charge of Rs. 369. The fare of chair car of 26404 Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat is Rs. 720 including catering charges. The fare of executive class is Rs. 1325 including catering charges.

Vande Bharat train has been specially designed

According to Indian Railways, Vande Bharat has been specially designed to run in minus temperatures in the valley. Because in winter season the temperature here goes down to minus. This train is equipped with a heating system. It has silicon heating pads, which will not let the water tanks and bio-toilet tanks freeze. Also, it is equipped with overheat protection sensor safety. Heaters are installed, passengers will keep getting warm air in winter. The auto-draining mechanism system installed in the train has draining systems installed in the plumbing lines, so that water will not freeze.
