Elections being stolen under Modi govt: Rahul Gandhi ahead of Bihar polls
Ahead of Bihar Assembly elections, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that the elections are being stolen in India under the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an interaction with reporters outside Parliament, the Congress leader accused the dispensation under the PM Modi-led BJP government of resorting to “cheating” through Election Commission (EC).
“Elections are being stolen in India. This is the reality,” he said.
“It is not about Bihar only. They did cheating in Maharashtra. We asked the EC for the voter list, they did not provide it. We requested for videographic evidence, but they changed the law around videography,” he alleged, claiming that one crore new voters were added in Maharashtra.
Gandhi also cited a case of Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka during the 2024 general polls.
“We did some research in Karnataka and found large-scale irregularities. I will present the evidence to the EC in black and white. How theft is done? We have got it in our hands,” he said.
The Congress leader further claimed that the Special Intensive Revision of the voter list in Bihar was part of an effort to delete the voters.
“They have come to know that we have got their game. We deep-dived on one Lok Sabha constituency—analysed its full voter list over six months. We found how votes were cast and where new voters came up. They have come to know about this. Now they are deleting voters in Bihar and forming it anew,” he said.
