Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Woman Tries To Jump Off Flyover Over Land Dispute Threats, Rescued Just In Time (VIDEO)

Around a 40-year-old woman tried to jump from the Cidco Flyover, claiming that some person is frequently chasing her and also threatening her to give up her land. The commuters noticed the incident and immediately informed the traffic police. The police then rushed to the spot and rescued the woman. The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 2 pm in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The woman, Suman (name changed), lives in the Beed By-pass area and works as a cook in the Mukundwadi area. On Tuesday afternoon, she was going over the Cidco Flyover but suddenly climbed the wall of the flyover and tried to jump and kill herself. The residents tried to convince her, but she was in no mood to listen. Then the people informed the traffic police. Traffic squad API Hareshwar Ghuge, constable Yogesh Najan, Suman Bawaskar, and Subhash Fule rushed to the flyover. They convinced her and then brought her down from the security wall of the flyover.

The officers of the Damini squad — Puja Jadhav, Sindhu Wadekar, and Rupa Sakla — contacted Suman’s husband and called him to the Mukundwadi police station. Suman was later handed over to him.

In the video, one can see her almost hanging from the railing of the flyover as onlookers gathered and pleaded with her to stop.

‘He’s Been Following Me!’

Suman claimed that an unidentified person chases her frequently over a dispute regarding land that they had recently sold in Jalna district. He also threatened her with lodging false complaints against the guarantor in the deal. Hence, she was under depression and mental pressure for the past few days. The man had allegedly threatened her on the road on July 21, she told the police.

A case has been registered against the unidentified person in this regard, said PI Sachin Ingole.
