150 edu officials deputed on shuttle buses in Rohtak

In a bid to ensure smooth and timely transportation of candidates appearing for the common eligibility test (CET) on July 26 and 27, the district administration has made elaborate arrangements, including deputation of staff on shuttle services.

A total of 150 officials from the Education Department have been deployed—one in each of the 150 shuttle buses arranged to transport candidates arriving from Bhiwani and Jhajjar districts.

“Each bus will have one Education Department official assigned to it, who will be responsible for ensuring that the bus reaches its designated examination centre on time. All officials have been briefed about their responsibilities and provided with details such as their assigned bus number and the corresponding exam centre, so they are well aware of the route and location in advance,” said Surendra Siwach, Workshop Manager, Rohtak Depot.

Siwach said this step would help CET candidates avoid any last-minute confusion or delays on the exam days.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Singh said a total of 68 examination centres had been set up for the CET in the district, including 65 in Rohtak city and 3 in Meham town.

He said that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, had also been issued in view of the exam on July 26 and 27 to ensure that the examination is conducted in a fair and peaceful manner, free from any malpractice.

As per the orders, gathering of five or more persons (excluding candidates and staff on official duty) within a 100-meter radius of the 68 designated examination centres in the district is prohibited. Carrying weapons such as firearms, explosives, swords, axes, spears, sticks, knives, or any other sharp or dangerous objects is strictly banned in these areas.

Additionally, all Xerox/photocopy shops, cyber cafes, and similar establishments located within 100 metres of the exam centres are to remain closed during both sessions of the examination on July 26 and 27.
