Man held with Rs10 lakh worth of smack in Nuh
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Nuh, has arrested a drug smuggler and seized 260 gram of smack along with a motorcycle. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is around Rs 10 lakh. An FIR has been registered at Nuh Sadar Police Station.
According to police, the CIA Nuh team, led by Inspector Jangsher, was patrolling under a bridge on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway late on Tuesday night. The police had erected barricades to check vehicles when a motorcycle with two riders approached. On spotting the police, the pillion rider fled. The driver attempted to turn the bike sharply, but lost control and fell, after which the police team apprehended him.
The accused has been identified as Sajid, a resident of Utawad village in Nuh district. His associate has been identified as Sukka alias Samim. The duo was reportedly on their way to sell smack on a motorcycle without a number plate.
“When the accused Sajid was searched, a substance was found in a foil in his trouser pocket. It was confirmed to be smack, with a total weight of 260 gram. The cost of the recovered drug is about Rs 10 lakh. We are conducting raids to nab the other accused and the bike has been seized,” said Harinder Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Nuh.
