Actually, the work of connecting the third and fourth lines is being started near Kirodimal Nagar in Chhattisgarh and Mathura station in Uttar Pradesh, due to which the line has been blocked on the respective railway routes. This has a direct impact on eight trains passing through Tatanagar.

In this, Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express has been canceled on August 26, Tatanagar-Satarajayi-Pune Express on August 23 and 25, and Howrah-Pune Express on August 21, 22 and 24.

These trains will remain canceled

Shalimar Express will remain cancelled on 23rd and 24th August and Shalimar Express will remain cancelled from 27th to 29th August. Along with this, due to line block near Mathura, the operation of weekly superfast trains running on Bandra-Chhapra and Bandra-Gorakhpur will be affected from 2nd August.

Apart from this, the line will be blocked near Lota Pahad station in Chakradharpur division from 9 to 25 August, due to which Tatanagar-Rourkela MEMU (9, 12, 16, 19, 23 August) and Tatanagar-Itwari Express (9, 12, 16, 19, 23 and 26 August) will remain cancelled.

However, the block will not affect Hatia-Tata Express, Barbil-Jagannath Express, Tata-Bilaspur Express, Tata-Rourkela MEMU, Chakradharpur-Tata MEMU and Asansol-Tata MEMU trains. But instructions have been given to cancel up and down from 26, 29 July to 2 August.

Objective to increase passenger convenience

This step taken by the Railways towards line expansion is aimed at increasing passenger convenience in future, but at present the travel plans of thousands of passengers are getting affected by it. Passengers have been advised to compulsorily check the status of the train before travelling. Cancellation of trains from a busy station like Tatanagar is no less than a challenge for the passengers of the city and nearby areas.
